To help you jump start the new year, we’re posting thirty-one technology and business treats, one for each day of January.
Do you remember the days before apps? Before smartphones began running apps? I should clarify that we have always had apps, we just called them applications and they were buried somewhere within the bowels of your computer hard drive. We talked more about software and software was dependent on specific hardware. No one uses any of those terms anymore … at least not in the circles of the average person. And the average person uses more technology now, and for more things, than ever before.
We have crossed into a whole new realm with technology in our personal lives and yet we continue to use outdated modes for technology in business. Why is that?
Many of us have been using cellphones for a number of years now. Some of us ONLY use cellphones; no landline at all for anything … including personal AND business.
Many continue to use people to make and confirm appointments in doctors’ offices or hair salons. Yet, inexpensive services integrated through your website can achieve the same thing. Certainly less expensive than a salary and benefits.
These are two very simple examples. There are many more affordable, time-saving, and efficient possibilities. It’s time to ask ourselves: how can I bring my business or organization more into the 21st century? Not sure? Talk to someone who knows.
